NHAI launches Rs 3,000 FASTag annual pass for unlimited highway convenience
PTC Web Desk: Starting August 15 (Independence Day), frequent highway travellers can opt for a new FASTag annual pass introduced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The prepaid pass, priced at Rs 3,000, allows up to 200 toll crossings or remains valid for one year from the date of activation — whichever comes first.
The scheme is open to owners of private, non-commercial vehicles with an active FASTag linked to a registered vehicle number. Passes will not be issued for FASTags linked only to chassis numbers.
Holders can use the pass at all toll plazas on national highways, regardless of the individual toll fee at each location. Applications require a vehicle registration certificate, passport-size photo of the owner, KYC details, and proof of identity and address.
Motorists can buy the pass both online and offline. Online purchases are available through the NHAI website, Rajmargyatra mobile app, e-commerce portals, and partner banks such as Paytm Payments Bank, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank. Activation will be done only via the NHAI website or Rajmargyatra app and is expected within two hours of payment confirmation.
NHAI officials said the facility aims to reduce congestion, cut travel time, and offer savings to regular users of national highways. Once the pass limit is reached or the one-year validity ends, it will automatically switch back to a regular FASTag. Users can renew the pass to continue enjoying its benefits.
