Padma Bhushan awardee Professor Ved Prakash Nanda passes away; PM Modi extends condolences
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on the death of Padma Bhushan awardee Professor Ved Prakash Nanda, whose work he described as showing his "strong commitment" to "legal education."
"Deeply saddened by the passing away of Professor Ved Prakash Nanda Ji, a distinguished academic whose contributions to the legal field are invaluable," PM Modi said.
"His work highlights his strong commitment to legal education. He was also a prominent member of the Indian diaspora in the USA and was passionate about strong India-USA relations. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti."
Professor Nanda was an Indian American academic who received the Padma Bhushan award in the field of literature and education on March 20, 2018. He was an international law expert.
He was also the Founder and Emeritus Director of the International Legal Studies Programme, as well as the Director of the Ved Nanda Centre for International and Comparative Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
