Parliament Security Breach: Lok Sabha Secretariat suspends 8 security personnel over security lapses

Parliament Security Breach: A day after the shocking security lapse witnessed during Parliament's Zero Hour when two men, each carrying canisters emitting yellow smoke, leaped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, Lok Sabha secretariat suspended eight security personnel on Thursday over security lapses. 

Among the eight Lok Sabha security personnel suspended are Rampal, Arvind, Vir Das, Ganesh, Anil, Pradeep, Vimitt and Narendra. 


The shocking incident of Parliament Security Breach was witnessed during Zero Hour in Lok Sabha on the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament terror attack when two intruders - Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D entered the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitor gallery. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with senior ministers inside the Parliament over security breach. While the opposition leaders are demanding statements in both houses.

The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm amid sloganeering by Opposition MPs over Wednesday's security breach incident. The opposition MPs also demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the incident.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said "all of us are concerned" about what happened in the House yesterday. The security of the House is the responsibility of Lok Sabha Secretariat.

Then case of major security breach occurred during Parliament's Zero Hour has also been registered under sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act to probe the major security breach occurred during Parliament's Zero Hour and five out of six individuals have been apprehended by Delhi Police and a search is underway for the one remaining. 

The accused behind the Parliament Security Breach has been identified as Amol Shinde, Neelam, Sagar and Manoranjan – all unemployed youths, belonging to the families of labourers, farmers or small shopkeepers.

A drastic security change was witnessed in the Parliament on Thursday with security personnel deputed on the entrance of the outer gates insisting to remove even shoes despite doing minute frisking of those entering the premises of the campus. 

This incident has raised profound questions about the challenges and issues of youth such as unemployment and its potential impact on mental health, prompting a closer examination of the societal implications and the underlying causes that may lead to such distressing actions.
