PM Modi addresses 102nd edition of Mann Ki Baat, highlights key issues and initiatives

New Delhi, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered his monthly radio program, Mann Ki Baat, in its 102nd edition on Sunday. Here are the key highlights from his speech:

PM Modi in US Next Week:
Clarifying the early airing of the program, PM Modi stated that he would be in the United States next week, leading to a hectic schedule. He took the opportunity to address the listeners before his departure, expressing the significance of the moment.


Cyclone Biparjoy:

PM Modi acknowledged the destructive impact of Cyclone Biparjoy on the western part of the country. He praised the authorities for their efforts in preparing for and managing the cyclone. He also expressed confidence in the people of Kutch swiftly recovering from the devastation caused by the cyclone.


Management Skills of Shivaji Maharaj:
Highlighting the management skills of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, PM Modi emphasized the lessons to be learned from his governance, including water management and the Navy. He acknowledged the completion of 350 years since the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, marking an important milestone.


National Emergency and Democracy:
PM Modi referred to the National Emergency imposed in 1975 as a black chapter in Indian democracy, recognizing the protests that took place during that time. He emphasized the importance of observing such incidents during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to educate future generations about the significance of democracy.

Target to Eradicate Tuberculosis:
PM Modi announced India's target to eradicate Tuberculosis by 2025. He praised the Ni-kshay Mitra initiative, where thousands of people are adopting TB patients in rural areas, reflecting the true strength of India.


International Yoga Day:
PM Modi revealed that the theme for this year's International Yoga Day is "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," emphasizing unity. He announced his participation in a yoga session at the UN Headquarters on the 9th International Day of Yoga, celebrated on June 21.

Efforts in Hapur, UP, and Miyawaki Technique:
The Prime Minister commended the efforts of the residents of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, in reviving an extinct river and developing its source as an Amrit Sarovar. He also mentioned the Miyawaki technique as an effective method to restore greenery in infertile areas.

The Mann Ki Baat program, having recently completed its 100th episode, was aired live across the country on April 26 and also broadcasted at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
