PTC News Desk: In an unusual incident, police officers drove into the emergency ward of AIIMS Rishikesh on Tuesday to arrest a man accused of sexual harassment. The video of the incident also went viral. The police wanted to arrest a nursing officer accused of sexually harassing a woman doctor.

In the 26-second clip, the police car is seen driving through a crowded emergency room, with rows of patients in beds on both sides. A group of security officials is seen clearing the way for the SUV by pushing stretchers carrying patients out of the way. The car speeds ahead, with several police officers visible inside.

According to the police, the nursing officer allegedly sexually harassed a woman doctor in an operating room at the premier health facility. According to Rishikesh police officer Shankar Singh Bisht, Satish Kumar, who has since been suspended, also allegedly sent an obscene SMS to the doctor.

The incident enraged the hospital's doctors, who went on strike and demonstrated outside the dean's office, demanding that the offender be dismissed. The doctors also approached the police.

Seeing the large number of protesting doctors, the police decided to drive into the hospital and arrest Satish Kumar. Another video shows a group of police officers surrounded by protesting doctors as they take the accused man into a car.

The doctors, raising slogans, called for Satish Kumar to be fired right away, claiming that his offence warranted more than just a suspension. At AIIMS Rishikesh, emergency services are still available, but since Tuesday, doctors have been on strike.
