Rajnath Singh also likely to skip Russia's Victory Day parade after PM Modi in wake of Pahalgam attack
PTC News Desk: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is also likely to skip Russia's Victory Day celebrations on May 9 in Moscow after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Singh was scheduled to visit Moscow for the Victory Day celebrations in place of PM Modi on Russia's invitation, however he is likely to skip the celebrations in wake of the Pahalgam attack took place last month.
Minister of State (MoS) for Defence Sanjay Seth is expected to represent India at the parade held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Germany in World War II.
The reason for PM Modi's decision to not visit Russia has not been specified however the reports suggest that it was made in light of the prevailing security situation following the April 22 Pahalgam Terror Attack, which killed 26 people.
The Victory Day parade is commemorated in Russia with several global leaders in attendance.
Meanwhile Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit India for an annual summit between both countries later this year.
