Mumbai, December 17: Billionaire industrialist Sajjan Jindal has vehemently refuted accusations of rape leveled against him by a 30-year-old model in Mumbai. Denouncing the allegations as "false and baseless," Jindal has assured full cooperation with law enforcement agencies in the ongoing investigation.
The woman, identified as an actor on social media, claimed to have met the 64-year-old businessman at a cricket match in Dubai a few years ago. Alleging that they developed a friendship, she accused Jindal of raping her on January 23 inside the JSW Group's headquarters. Additionally, she accused him of making promises of marriage.
An FIR was lodged on December 13, charging Sajjan Jindal under sections 376 (rape), 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
In a statement issued in his personal capacity, Sajjan Jindal has categorically denied the allegations, emphasizing their lack of truth and merit. The statement expressed Jindal's commitment to providing complete cooperation during the investigative process. However, the statement refrained from further commentary on the ongoing investigation.
