South Korean national stabbed to death by his live-in partner from Manipur in Greater Noida
PTC Web Desk: A late-night drinking session inside a high-end apartment in Greater Noida ended in tragedy after a South Korean national was stabbed to death, allegedly by his live-in partner from Manipur. The woman has been arrested on charges of murder, the police said on Sunday.
The incident came to light after GIMS Hospital informed the police that a foreign national with severe stab wounds had been brought to the emergency ward. Doctors declared him dead on arrival, following which the hospital informed the local police.
The deceased was identified as Duck Jee Yuh, a South Korean citizen who worked as a branch manager with a well-known mobile phone company. The woman who brought him to the hospital was later identified as Lunjeana Pamai, a resident of Manipur.
During questioning, Pamai allegedly admitted that she had stabbed Yuh during an argument. The police said the couple had been living together in a live-in relationship for the past two years.
Investigators revealed that the two were consuming alcohol late into the night when a dispute broke out over an unspecified issue. What began as a verbal argument soon turned physical. In the course of the scuffle, Pamai allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed Yuh in the chest.
“The injury was deep and he started bleeding profusely,” a police officer said. Realising the seriousness of the situation, the woman rushed him to the hospital, but doctors could not save him.
In an official statement, the police said a case had been registered at the Knowledge Park Police Station and the accused had been taken into custody. “Preliminary investigation indicates that the woman allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife. Further investigation is underway to establish the motive and sequence of events,” the statement said.
Police sources added that the relationship between the couple was troubled. The deceased allegedly consumed alcohol frequently and was accused of physically assaulting the woman on several occasions, leading to repeated altercations. The accused has claimed that she did not intend to kill him and that the stabbing occurred in the heat of the moment. Her statement is being verified as part of the investigation.
The woman remains in police custody as investigators continue to reconstruct the events leading to the killing. Officials said further legal action would depend on the outcome of the ongoing probe.
