Tech Mahindra Asia head shot dead by neighbour over parking dispute in Faridabad

PTC News Desk: A former regional business head of Tech Mahindra's Asia-Pacific operations was shot dead by his neighbour following a parking dispute in Faridabad's Sector 21C on Friday night.

The victim, identified as Paramjeet Dhankhar, was settled in Singapore and was working as Senior Vice President at Vietnam-based FPT Software Company Limited.

The incident took place two days before Diwali, on the night of Dhanteras. The accused, identified as Mohan alias Monu Sharma, allegedly fired 15–16 rounds from his licensed pistol after an argument over parking. Dhankhar suffered around 8–9 bullet injuries and died at the spot.

According to police, the parking dispute had been going on for several days. Sharma's son allegedly used to make his dog defecate in the parking area, which had repeatedly led to objections from Dhankhar's family. The issue had resulted in several arguments, including one four to five days before the shooting.

Dhankhar lived on the ground floor of the building, while Sharma lived on the second floor, investigators said.

The shooting

On Friday night, the two neighbours again got into an argument over parking. Sharma allegedly called Dhankhar outside his home and opened fire on him several times with his licensed pistol.

Police said Dhankhar, who frequently travelled to Singapore for work, had returned to Faridabad on November 5 to attend his nephew's wedding, scheduled for November 24.

After the shooting, Sharma fled with his family. Police teams, including crime branch units, are searching for him.

District police teams and forensic experts reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. Several empty cartridges were recovered from the scene. Dhankhar's body was taken to Badshah Khan Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Faridabad Police spokesperson Yashpal Yadav said Sharma escaped soon after the shooting.

"Multiple teams have been formed to arrest him as quickly as possible," he said.

Victim had returned from Singapore

Paramjeet lived with his wife, son and daughter on the first floor of house number 641. He worked for a major company and stayed in Singapore due to his professional commitments. He had returned to Faridabad just two days before the incident to attend his nephew's wedding, which was scheduled for November 24.

Originally from Hisar, Paramjeet had returned home from the gym at around 8 pm when he got into an argument with Mohan, who lived on the third floor of the same building.
