Tragic fire in Delhi factory claims 11 lives, 2 trapped

PTC News Desk: In a devastating incident, a fire erupted in a market area in Alipur, Delhi, claiming the lives of at least eleven individuals. The fire, which originated at a paint factory, quickly spread to two adjacent godowns and a de-addiction center, according to fire officials.

The bodies of the victims were discovered in the factory located in Alipur's Dayalpur Market. Additionally, four individuals, including a police officer, sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. Regrettably, two others remain unaccounted for and are feared to be trapped within the debris.

Upon receiving notification of the incident at 5:25 pm, the Fire department promptly dispatched six fire engines to the scene. Despite the intensity of the blaze, firefighters managed to bring it under control within four hours of their arrival.

Preliminary investigations suggest that an explosion occurred at the factory prior to the outbreak of the fire, possibly triggered by the presence of chemicals stored on-site. The fire subsequently spread to nearby structures, including a residential house and a Nasha Mukti Kendra, resulting in a collapse that trapped the unfortunate laborers.
