'Trying to involve court in political thicket': High Court slams repeated requests to remove Arvind Kejriwal as CM
PTC News Desk: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday expressed its displeasure with the repeated filing of petitions seeking the removal of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal from the post of chief minister following his arrest.
The court stated that once it had addressed the issue and ruled that it fell within the executive domain, there would be no "repeat litigation" because it was not a James Bond film with sequels.
A bench led by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan dismissed petitioner Sandeep Kumar, a former AAP MLA who sought Kerjiwal's removal from office, for attempting to involve the court in a "political thicket" and imposed a Rs 50,000 cost on him.
"This is not like a James Bond film, where there will be sequels. The Governor will take a decision on this. You are trying to involve us in a political thicket, that is all," remarked the court.

The bench, which included Justice Manmeet PS Arora, reiterated that it cannot impose governor's rule in the capital.
Observing that the petitioner was "making a mockery of the system," the court imposed Rs 50,000 costs on him.
On March 28, the court dismissed a PIL seeking Arvind Kejriwal's removal, stating that while the petitioner had failed to demonstrate any legal bar that prevented the arrested chief minister from holding office, there was also no scope for judicial intervention in such cases because the issue was for the other organs of the State to investigate.
