PTC News Desk: In a significant breakthrough, Indian security agencies arrested two of India's most wanted gangsters, who have been operating abroad. Security agency officials, including those from the Haryana Police, arrested Venkatesh Garg in Georgia, while Bhanu Rana was arrested in the United States. Rana is linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Both Garg and Rana are expected to be deported to India soon. At present, more than two dozen notorious Indian gangsters are operating from abroad, recruiting new members and managing criminal networks.
Venkatesh Garg Linked To BSP Leader’s Murder
The crackdown on Garg and Rana has uncovered key details about their methods of operation.
Garg, a native of Narayangarh in Haryana and currently based in Georgia, faces over 10 criminal cases in India. He has been recruiting youths from Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and other northern states.
He reportedly fled to Georgia after his involvement in the murder of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader in Gurugram.
Garg is also said to be running an extortion racket in collaboration with Kapil Sangwan, another gangster currently living abroad. In October, Delhi Police arrested four of Sangwan’s shooters who had opened fire at a builder’s residence and farmhouse.
