UP ATS arrest fugitive linked to Khalistan Commando Force after 31 years on the run

PTC News Desk: A joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has arrested an absconding terrorist linked to the banned outfit Khalistan Commando Force in Punjab’s Mohali district.

The accused, identified as Sukhwinder Singh Dhillon alias Dayal Singh alias Rakesh Sharma alias Chhinda, was an active member of the proscribed organisation. He was earlier arrested in Gautam Buddha Nagar with an AK-56 rifle and 121 cartridges and was produced before a court in 1993. On December 9, 1993, he was granted bail.

After securing bail on August 16, 1995, he absconded and remained on the run for nearly 31 years, following which a court issued a warrant for his arrest. The joint ATS and Gautam Buddha Nagar Police team tracked him down and arrested him from SAS Nagar (Mohali) in Punjab.
