Who was Wing Commander Namansh Syal? Himachal pilot who died in Dubai Tejas crash
PTC News Desk: A deep sadness has spread across Patialakad village and the entire Nagrota Bagwan area in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, after Wing Commander Namansh Syal, 34, of the Indian Air Force, lost his life when the Tejas fighter jet crashed during a practice flight at the Dubai Air Show on Friday afternoon.
Wing Commander Syal, respected for his discipline and excellent service, was posted at the Hyderabad airbase. He leaves behind his wife Afsaan, also an Air Force officer, and their five-year-old daughter. People in the area are heartbroken but also proud of his sacrifice. Residents remember him as a dedicated officer who always fulfilled his duty.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed deep sorrow, saying the country has lost a brave and committed pilot. He added that Wing Commander Syal’s courage and service will always be honoured, and he offered condolences to the family.
According to the village pradhan, his body is expected to arrive in the village by Sunday, and he will be cremated with full military honours.
Former pradhan Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary said, “His sacrifice has touched every heart in Patialakad. He will always be remembered as a brave son of the soil.”
