Winter vacations: Delhi schools to remain closed on 6 days in January, check dates
Winter vacations: As North India witnesses cold wave conditions, the Delhi Government issues circular for winter vacation in Delhi Govt Schools. The Winter Vacation for Academic Session 2023-2024 is scheduled to be observed from 1st January 2024 (Monday) to 6th January 2024 (Saturday).
All government, government-aided and private schools are directed to follow the order.
The winter vacation this year has been announced only for six days in the wake of implementation of GRAP-IV measures due to Severe Air Quality prevailing in Delhi and seeing that no respite from such adverse weather conditions in near future. The Delhi Government declared winter holidays from November 9 to 18.
A circular from the Directorate of Education read, " Winter vacation for the academic session 2023-24 was scheduled to take place from January 1 to January 15. However, in order to ensure that our students are not adversely affected due to the poor air quality in Delhi, a portion of winter vacation was observed from November 9 to November 18."
