Woman faints during Home Guard recruitment process in Bihar, gang-raped in ambulance
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident, a woman, who fainted during the Home Guard recruitment process at BMP-3 parade ground in the Bodh Gaya police station, was allegedly gang-raped by an ambulance driver and a technician while on way to hospital.
Confirming the incident, the police said the crime took place when she was being taken to hospital after she fainted during the recruitment process. The incident dates back to July 24 , when the physical tests were underway for the recruitment process. The ambulance was stationed at the site. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anand Kumar said the victim reported the assault to the police shortly after the incident.
In response to her complaint, the ambulance driver, Vinay Kumar, and the technician, Ajit Kumar, were arrested within two hours. A special investigation team, led by Bodh Gaya SDPO Saurabh Jaiswal, was swiftly formed to investigate the case.
The police conducted a thorough investigation, including sending a forensic team to gather evidence. CCTV footage from the scene was crucial in identifying the perpetrators. An FIR has been lodged at the Bodh Gaya police station, and investigations are currently ongoing.
SSP Anand Kumar said a charge sheet would be filed soon.
