Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Payal constituency is located in the Ludhiana district of Punjab. It is one of the 117 seats of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Congress' Lakhvir Singh Lakha won the last assembly elections and is the current MLA of Payal. He won the 2017 elections by defeating Aam Aadmi Party's Gurpreet Singh Lapran with a margin of 21,496 votes. Voters According to the voter list for the 2017 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 1,58,429. 197 polling stations were established by the election commission during these elections. A total of 1,30,979 votes were cast in the Payal constituency and the percentage was 82.67%, which was recorded lower than the state average. Candidates Aam Aadmi Party's Gurpreet Singh Lapran, Shiromani Akali Dal's Isher Singh Meharban and Congress' Lakhvir Singh Lakha were MLA candidates for the Payal constituency in the 2017 Punjab assembly elections. Lakhvir Singh Lakha (Congress) grabbed 57,776 votes, while Gurpreet Singh Lapran (AAP) got 36,280 votes. Isher Singh Meharban (SAD) managed to get 33,044 votes.
