AAP's Gayatri Bishnoi threatens legal action against Sukhpal Khaira over derogatory 'housing' remarks
PTC News Desk: AAP Punjab observer Gayatri Bishnoi on Friday said she would take Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira to court over what she called “shameless” and inappropriate remarks about her and AAP Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia. The Punjab State Women’s Commission also took note of the matter. Its chairperson, Raj Lali Gill, said the commission would not tolerate any remarks that insult a woman’s dignity.
Khaira responded by repeating his allegations and told Bishnoi that her “unparliamentary and vulgar language” reflected her upbringing.
In response to Bishnoi's post, women's commission chairperson Raj Gill said, "Publicly maligning a woman's character, making defamatory remarks on her life is a serious matter. No one is above the law. Strict action will be initiated in accordance with law."
Bishnoi, who is also the president of the AAP’s Rajasthan women’s wing, released a video on X explaining that she lives with her parents at the official residence of Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh in Chandigarh. She made the statement after Khaira alleged that she was staying with Sisodia at a government house in Sector 39.
In the video, Bishnoi said she was staying at the minister’s residence because her father has a heart condition and is receiving treatment in Chandigarh. She also showed the house number and appeared with her parents in the video.

Bishnoi strongly criticised Khaira for making personal allegations about her. She questioned how he could make such remarks about a woman who is around the same age as his daughter. She also said that she works for the people of Punjab and warned Khaira that she would take legal action against him.
Khaira made another X post, saying he was not afraid of threats.
Khaira, the Congress MLA from Bholath, had earlier challenged Sisodia to clarify whether he was staying in a government residence that was allegedly allotted to a Punjab minister. He also questioned who was living with Sisodia at the house and referred to Bishnoi in his allegations.

Khaira further claimed that an Enforcement Directorate report had mentioned that Sisodia and AAP leader Satyendar Jain operated from government residences and allegedly called officials there. He claimed that another government house was occupied by Jain.
Khaira's allegations came while he was criticising the AAP government over the Enforcement Directorate's searches at 23 locations linked to the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) over two days.
