Sukhbir Singh Badal announces 'Dharam Yudh Morcha' from July 19 against CM Mann; gives one-month ultimatum to AAP to remove him
PTC Web Desk: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday escalated his party's offensive against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, announcing the launch of 'Dharam Yudh Morcha' starting July 19 if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) fails to remove Mann from the Chief Minister's post within one month.
Addressing mediapersons in Chandigarh, Sukhbir Singh Badal said Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest temporal seat of the Sikh faith, has declared Bhagwant Mann as 'Guru Dokhi' (one who betrays the Guru) and 'Panth Dokhi' (one who betrays the Sikh community), adding that such an act is unforgivable and will never be pardoned.
Sukhbir Singh Badal called upon all Sikh organisations and political parties to unite in compliance with the directives of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He announced that a five-member committee of the party will reach out to all Sikh bodies and political parties to build a united front against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Targeting the Chief Minister directly, the SAD chief said a controversial video that has been in public circulation for over a year is completely authentic. He claimed that while Mann had earlier dismissed it as AI-generated fake video, forensic examination conducted by two of India's leading forensic laboratories , commissioned by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, has confirmed the video's authenticity.
He questioned why the Chief Minister did not get the video examined by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Chandigarh if he was truly innocent. He further challenged Mann to undergo a lie detector test to prove his innocence before the public.
The Chief Minister, however, continues to maintain that he does not appear in the video, citing laboratory reports in his defence.
