New Delhi, March 20: Days after winning Uttarakhand elections 2022, all newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly will take oath in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday, informed state BJP chief Madan Kaushik. On Sunday, Kaushik further informed that the name for Uttarakhand Chief Minister will be decided after today's Legislative Party meeting. "All newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly will take oath at 11 am in Vidhan Sabha, tomorrow," the state BJP chief said, adding "The meeting of Legislative Party will be held in the evening. Thereafter, the Chief Minister's name will be announced." Earlier on Sunday, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Kaushik and former Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in Delhi to discuss government formation. Uttarakhand MLAs to take oath tomorrow Meanwhile, Dhami stated that the process of forming a government is underway and that the BJP central leadership will decide on the next leader of the state legislature party. "The procedure for government formation is underway...the BJP central leadership will take a decision (on CM face)," said Dhami, at Uttarakhand Bhawan Rekha Arya, a BJP MLA and former minister, has publicly stated her support for Dhami as the next Chief Minister. Several MLAs, notably Ganesh Joshi and Arvind Pandey, have also agreed to Dhami's election as the legislature party's leader. Uttarakhand MLAs to take oath tomorrow Meanwhile, six Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs have announced their willingness to resign from their Assembly seats in order to help Dhami win a seat in the House. Dhami had lost by 6,579 votes to Congress candidate Bhuwan Chandra Kapri. Dhami received 41,598 votes or 44.8 percent of the vote, while Kapri received 48,177 votes or 51.89 percent of the vote. In Uttarakhand, the BJP received a popular mandate for the second consecutive term, winning 47 seats in the 70-member Assembly.
