Dubai flooding disrupts Amritsar-Dubai flight for second day in row; passengers face inconvenience

Amritsar, April 18: Dubai is experiencing severe flooding that has significantly disrupted daily life, including international travel to and from the city. The ongoing floods have resulted in the cancellation of multiple flights, including the Amritsar-Dubai flight for the second consecutive day, causing inconvenience and frustration among passengers.

Travellers have expressed their dismay at the sudden cancellations and lack of communication from the airline. Many reported being informed of the flight cancellation only half an hour before the scheduled departure, despite having been at the Amritsar airport two hours in advance, as per regulations. This last-minute notification has left many passengers stranded and uncertain about their travel plans.

Adding to the travellers' concerns, several passengers had onward connections from Dubai to Canada and other international destinations. The abrupt cancellations have disrupted their carefully planned itineraries, leaving them scrambling for alternatives. Passengers have noted the significant challenges they face in rebooking flights and adjusting their travel plans, with many expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of timely support and clear guidance from the airline.

In response to the situation, the airline has offered refunds to affected passengers. While this is a necessary step, it has not fully addressed the passengers' needs, as many are seeking bookings on flights in the coming days to maintain their travel schedules.
