Portion of Sukhpal Khaira's house demolished in Bholath; SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia speaks to Congress MLA
PTC News Desk: The office of the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), Bholath on Monday demolished the alleged illegal construction linked to Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira's house. The action triggered a standoff between the Congress leader and the authorities.
As the demolition began, Khaira went live on his social media page and criticised AAP government's action.
Khaira stated that the action was unjust. “The officials are wrongly claiming that the entrance gate is an encroachment, but it is not. We are approaching the court right away to stall this demolition,” he said.
Khaira alleged that authorities attempted to demolish parts of his home without issuing any prior notice. However, no official statement has yet been released by the administration.
Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa also took to his social media and rebuked the demolition drive.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia also spoke to Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira following administrative action to demolish alleged illegal construction at Khaira’s residence in Ramgarh.
