Punjab Mansa pregnant woman murder: A 22-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Punjab's Mansa district after he reportedly suspected her of having an extramarital relationship. The victim was carrying twin babies.
The accused fled the scene after the attack. The police have launched a search to trace and arrest him. An investigation into the case is underway.
The incident took place at Thuthianwali village, where the victim, identified as Simarjit Kaur, had been staying at her parental home ahead of the delivery of her babies.
According to family members, Simarjit had married a man from Burj Rathi village in a love marriage, which was later solemnised with the consent of both families.
Her relatives alleged that the accused had been suspicious of her character for some time. On the night of the incident, he allegedly arrived at her parents' house, called her outside the room and attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon. She suffered fatal injuries and died at the spot.
The police reached the scene after receiving information and took the body into custody for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.
