Patiala: Four of family consume poison over suspected financial distress; father, daughter die
PTC News Desk: Four members of a family in Patiala consumed poison at their residence resulting in the death of a father and his daughter, while his wife and their son is currently undergoing treatment. The incident took place in Patiala's Officer Colony on Thursday.
Preliminary investigation suggests that financial transactions among relatives may have led to tensions within the family that led the them to take such a drastic step.

Police suspect that the head of the family allegedly poisoned his wife and two children before consuming the poison himself. However, officials said the exact sequence of events and motive are yet to be established.
The father and daughter were declared dead, while the mother and son were admitted to hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
