Punjab: BSF, Punjab Police recover 1 drone along with heroin from Amritsar’s Dhanoe Khurd village
PTC News Desk: A joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police, on Tuesday recovered another nefarious attempt of smugglers in Punjab’s Gurdaspur village.
The drone along with the contraband item was recovered from a farming field near Dhanoe Khurd village in Punjab's Amritsar district following a search operation launched by BSF and Punjab Police on specific information.
In a joint search operation by Punjab Police and BSF on December 18th, during evening hours, on specific information regarding intrusion of the drone, vigilant troops , recovered a drone and a packet of contraband item weighing 540 gram attached to it from a farming field near Dhanoe Khurd village in Punjab's Amritsar district.

The recovered drone is a quadcopter (model: DJI Mavic 3 Classic, made in China), said the press release.
This is not the first instance where an attempt has been made to smuggle contraband items or firearms by drone from the other side of the border into Indian territory. This has especially been a major problem in the state of Punjab, where such attempts are made frequently. However, BSF and Pubjab police have successfully foiled multiple such attempts in the recent past.
BSF Punjab Frontier also took to their official X handle (former Twitter) and wrote, @BSF_Punjab troops and @PunjabPoliceInd @AmritsarRPolice launched two joint search operations after Pakistani Drones violated Indian Airspace from two different places and recovered two Pakistani drones along with Heroin.”
