Punjab: BSF, Punjab Police recover two packets of heroin from Amritsar’s Ratan Khurd village
PTC News Desk: BSF and Punjab Police are acting in tandem to curb the menace of drugs and attempts of smugglers / anti-national elements along the Punjab border.
A joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police, on Tuesday recovered another nefarious attempt of smugglers in Punjab Amritsar’s Ratan Khurd village.
The nefarious attempt of smugglers was recovered on the outskirts of Ratan Khurd village following a search operation launched by BSF and Punjab Police on specific information.

In a joint search operation by Punjab Police and BSF on December 12, 2023 during afternoon hours at around 03:30 pm on specific information regarding the presence of a consignment of contraband items, troops recovered two packets of contraband item suspected to be heroin (Gross weight – (approximately 1 Kg) wrapped with yellow adhesive tape along with one mini torch, one nylon rope and steel ring attached with the packets were recovered from the farming field adjacent to Ratan Khurd village.
BSF Punjab Frontier also took to their official X handle (former Twitter) and wrote, “In a joint search operation, based on a specific input @BSF_Punjab troops and @PunjabPoliceInd @AmritsarRPolice recovered appx 1 Kg of Heroin packed in 2 packets from farming fields in the outskirts of the Village - Roranwala, #Amritsar, Punjab.”

This is not the first instance where attempts have been made to smuggle arms or narcotics into Indian Territory from across the border with the help of drones. This has especially been a severe problem in the state of Punjab where frequent smuggling attempts are made with the help of drones by cross-border smugglers.

Vigilant troops of BSF and Punjab Police once again recovered the nefarious design of smugglers.
