7-year-old boy found dead under suspicious circumstances in Amritsar’s Babowal village; family alleges murder
PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident has sent shockwaves through Babowal village in the Majitha constituency of Amritsar, a seven-year-old boy, identified as Ekampreet Singh, was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Panic has gripped the village as the family mourns the loss of their only son.
According to village Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, he received a call around 1.15 pm informing him that a child was lying unconscious. When he reached the spot, he found the boy in a critical condition with bricks and stones scattered nearby. The initial scene, he said, raised suspicion of foul play.
Family members alleged that Ekampreet was murdered, claiming he was found behind a building structure near their home. The deceased is survived by his elder sister.
Following the information, a police team reached the location, recorded statements from the family and took the body into custody for a post-mortem examination. Investigating officers stated that the exact cause of death will be determined only after the post-mortem report is received. Given the family's allegations, the police have initiated a probe from all possible angles.
