Punjab: 5 killed as bus falls into gorge after collision with bus in Faridkot, toll likely to rise
PTC News Desk: In a tragic accident, at least 5 people have been killed after a bus carrying passengers fell into the gorge after collision with a bus. The accident took place on Tuesday morning at Faridkot Kotakpura Road. The exact number of casualties or injured has not been ascertained yet.
The private passenger bus skidded off the road and plunged into a drain following a collision with a goods-laden truck on the Kotkapura-Faridkot road.
Reportedly, localities immediately rushed to the spot to save the passengers till the rescue teams arrives. Meanwhile several passengers are said to be critically injured as the operation to save others continues.
The injured were immediately rushed to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital in Faridkot. Reportedly, the preliminary investigation suggests that the bus was over speeding at the time of incident.
Officials confirmed that the bus belonged to New Deep Bus Service, a transport company owned by AAP MLA from Gidderbaha, Dimpy Dhillon.
