Punjab Police bust cross-border smuggling module; three kg heroine recovered, six held
PTC News Desk: Punjab Police on Sunday busted a major cross-bprder arms and drug smuggling racket and arrested six Pakistan-based smugglers. Police also recovered six sophisticated pistols, 60 live cartridges and 3.51 kg heroin from the accused, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accused having links with Pakistan-based smugglers, were facilitating the supply of weapons and narcotics near the Indo-Pak border, the DGP wrote in a post on X.
The arrests further indicate that the accused were operating on the directions of their handlers based abroad, which is part of a larger organised crime.
Further investigation is underway to uncover forward and backward links.
