Railways announces special trains to Sri Anandpur Sahib for Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom anniversary
PTC Web Desk: The Indian Railways has announced special train services to facilitate the smooth and respectful travel of devotees on the occasion of the martyrdom day of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, revered as ‘Hind Di Chadar’. The announcement was made by Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Honouring the timeless legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who sacrificed his life for religious freedom, truth and human dignity, the Railways has committed to ensuring a safe, convenient and comfortable travel experience for sangat visiting Sri Anandpur Sahib during this sacred period.
Special train services announced
To manage the anticipated increase in pilgrim movement, Indian Railways will operate two special dedicated services starting November 22, one from Patna Sahib and the other from Old Delhi.
1. Patna Sahib special train (all classes)
A 22-coach special train will depart from Patna on November 23 at 06:40 AM and arrive at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 24 at 04:15 AM. The return journey will depart from Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 25 at 09:00 PM, reaching Old Delhi at 11:30 PM.
Key stoppages include Lucknow, Moradabad, and Ambala.
2. Old Delhi special AC train (all AC coaches)
A daily AC special service will run on November 22, 23, 24, and 25, departing Old Delhi at 07:00 AM and arriving at Sri Anandpur Sahib at 01:45 PM the same day.
Return services will leave Sri Anandpur Sahib daily at 08:30 PM, reaching Delhi at 03:15 AM.
This service will stop at Sonepat, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Sirhind and New Morinda in both directions.
Indian Railways has urged passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of these special services for a smooth travel experience.
