PTC News Desk: In a significant development, key shooter in Rana Balachauria murder case has been reportedly killed in a police encounter on Airport road in Mohali.

According to the police, the accused Karan Defaulter was taken into CI custody following which he escaped and attacked the police, prompting an encounter.

The encounter took place on Airport Road, Mohali. Police officials are expected to hold a media briefing about the encounter. Chandigarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmandeep Singh Hans will hold a press conference.

Notably, Karan Defaulter was also wanted in murder of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria's mother. He was named as key shooter in the case. He was arrested from West Bengal on Thursday.
