Turkish national killed in tragic accident after speeding runs over her in Punjab's Zirakpur
PTC News Desk: A Turkish national was killed after a speeding Audi runs over her while crossing road in Punjab's Zirakpur. The incident unfolded late on Monday.
The accident happened around midnight outside AmCare Hospital. Eyewitnesses said the victim, Mavluda, was returning with her friend after visiting a patient at the hospital. While they were crossing the road, a speeding Audi car allegedly hit her and threw her to the other side of the road. She suffered severe injuries and is believed to have died on the spot.
Abhishek, also known as Abhi, who was with her at the time, said Mavluda was his friend. She had come to the hospital to ask about the health of his pregnant wife.
When they reached the main road outside the hospital, the Audi hit them. Abhishek also received minor injuries in the accident. People nearby informed the police, but locals claimed the police arrived nearly an hour later.
The police later shifted the body to the mortuary of the Dera Bassi Sub-Divisional Hospital. They are now checking CCTV footage from the area to identify and catch the driver.
