Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann flags off bicycle rally against drug menace
Sangrur, May 22: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday flagged off a bicycle rally in Sangrur district as part of the campaign against the drug menace in the state.
Bhagwant Mann's bicycle rally in Sangrur spread the message of ’Fight, play and read’ against drugs in every house in Punjab. More than 15,000 youth participated in the rally, which testifies that the youth of Punjab are standing firm with their own elected government to make Punjab a drug free Punjab, said the Aam Aadmi Party.
“Bicycle rally against drugs in Sangrur on the slogan ‘Fight Against Drugs, Play And Read’ in every house in Punjab. More than 15,000 youth joined the rally ... it gives us courage. Your government will not stop till drugs are eradicated,” tweeted chief minister Bhagwant Mann.

Drug eradication has been a key agenda in Punjab politics. During the 2022 elections, Mann had said that his government would give a free hand to the state police to crack down on the drug mafia in Punjab if voted to power.
Bhagwant Mann also highlighted the need to develop indigenous anti-drone technology to check the supply of drugs and weapons through drones effectively from across the border.
