Punjab: CM-designate Bhagwant Mann to resign as MP on Monday
Chandigarh, March 13: Punjab Chief Minister-designate Bhagwant Mann will tender his resignation as Lok Sabha MP on Monday, informed sources.
Aam Aadmi Party leader, Bhagwant Mann is MP from Sangrur. According to sources, Mann will meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the Parliament on Monday.
AAP bagged a landslide victory in Punjab Assembly elections which Mann, who was the party's chief ministerial candidate, will take the oath on March 16. Bhagwant Mann's swearing-in ceremony will take place at the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh's native village Khatkar Kalan.
Notably, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has been invited to the oath-taking ceremony.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal and Mann held a roadshow in Amritsar on Sunday to thank the people of Punjab for giving their party a two-thirds majority in the state.

Earlier in the day, Arvind Kejriwal also asked the people of Punjab to join Chief Minister-designate Bhagwant Mann during the oath ceremony in Khatkar Kalan.
"Mann will take oath as Chief Minister on March 16, not only he, each and every Punjabi would be the Chief Minister. Everyone has to come to Khatkar Kalan and have to take the oath with him. Now, development will take place in Punjab and we will make "Rangla" (vibrant or prosperous) and happy Punjab," Kejriwal asserted.
With 92 seats, the AAP won a resounding victory in Punjab, pushing most of its opponents to the margins. In the 117-member Assembly, Congress won 18 seats.
Ahead of the roadshow, they paid obeisance at Golden Temple, Durgiana Temple and visited Jallianwala Bagh memorial.
