Punjab elections 2022: Madan Mohan Mittal joins SAD, made vice-president

Mohali, January 29: Ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections 2022, former BJP leader Madan Mohan Mittal on Saturday joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the presence of party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. Madan Mohan Mittal has been made senior vice-president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), led by Sukhbir Singh Badal. Mittal was reportedly upset after the BJP ignored his request to field his son Arvind Kejriwal from Anandpur Sahib. Earlier, Madan Mohan Mittal said, “His relationship with former Punjab CM and SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal has always been comforting”. Not only this, the SAD patron had never taken any decision without consulting him, he claimed. According to information, this is the second time the BJP didn’t give Madan Mohan Mittal, a former minister in the SAD-BJP Cabinet from 2012-17, his desired Anandpur Sahib seat.
