It emerged from these meetings that there was an urgent need for a complete overhaul of the SAD. To deliberate that changes, a high-power committee has been constituted. The committee would submit its report to the core committee, which would take major decisions.
Members of the committee include Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Charanjit Singh Atwal, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Sikander Singh Maluka, Hira Singh Gabria , Gulzar Singh Ranike, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Janmeja Singh Sekhon and Surjit Singh Rakhra.
Earlier, the SAD core committee had reposed faith in the leadership of president Sukhbir Singh Badal at its first meeting after the party’s debacle in the Assembly elections.
The committee passed a resolution that the party could not have run a better campaign than the one planned and executed by Sukhbir Badal. Party patriarch Parkash Singh Badal had also attended the meeting.
