Punjab law and order deteriorates: Verka general manager held captive, assaulted and robbed of Rs 2 lakh in Ludhiana
PTC News Desk: A case highlighting alarming concerns over Punjab law and order has been reported from Jagraon in Ludhiana, where robbers allegedly held the general manager of Verka, a Punjab government-run organisation, captive, assaulted him and fled after taking around Rs 2 lakh. The incident took place when Dr Surjit Singh Bhadour, General Manager of Verka Dairy Ferozepur, was travelling through Jagraon in his car.
According to the information available, Dr Surjit Singh Bhadour, who is posted as the GM of Verka Dairy Ferozepur, was travelling through Jagraon in his car on Tuesday evening. During this time, some youths who allegedly came from behind in a car reportedly stopped his vehicle in the area.
