The annual Amarnath Yatra dedicated to Baba Barfani is slated to commence from July 3 2025 and will continue until August 9, 2025. Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha on Wednesday chaired the 48th board meeting of Sri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) at Raj Bhavan where it was decided that the Yatra would begin from July 3.

- Routes: Pilgrims can take either the Pahalgam track (Anantnag district) or the Baltal track (Ganderbal district).
To improve the pilgrimage experience, the following initiatives were taken into account:
- Increased Accommodation: Additional facilities in Jammu, Srinagar, Baltal, Pahalgam, Nunwan, and Pantha Chowk.
- E-KYC & RFID System: Introduction of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) cards and on-the-spot registration at Naugam and Katra railway stations.
- Insurance & Security Measures: Adequate insurance coverage for pilgrims, service providers, and ponies.
- Online Services: Expansion of digital services for registration and yatra-related assistance.
- Route Maintenance & Disaster Preparedness: Track widening, medical facilities, security surveillance, weather forecasting, and disaster management systems.
- Prepaid Digital Payment System: Introduction of a digital prepaid system for hiring services such as ponies and porters.
