Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Rupnagar is one of the 117 seats of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Aam Aadmi Party's Amarjit Singh Sandoa won the last assembly elections and is the current MLA of Rupnagar. He won the 2107 elections by defeating Congress' Brinder Dhillon with a margin of 23,707 votes. Voters According to the voter list for the 2017 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 1,67,531. 193 polling stations were established by the election commission during these elections. A total of 1,29,594 votes were cast in the Rupnagar constituency and the percentage was 77.36%, which was recorded higher than the state average. Candidates Aam Aadmi Party's Amarjit Singh Sandoa, Shiromani Akali Dal's Dr Daljit Singh Cheema and Congress' Brinder Singh Dhillon were MLA candidates for the Rupnagar constituency in the 2017 Punjab assembly elections. Amarjit Singh Sandoa (AAP) won with 58,994 votes, while Brinder Singh Dhillon (Congress) got 35,287 votes. Dr Daljit Singh Cheema (SAD) managed to get 31,903 votes.
