A resident of Bhiwani, Haryana, Seema had to step away from athletics after pregnancy due to health complications. Last year, she battled post-pregnancy arthritis, a condition that threatened to derail her sporting career.
Despite the physical challenges, she worked her way back through months of rehabilitation and training before making a successful return to competitive athletics.
Seema revealed that one of the toughest parts of her journey has been staying away from her young son while preparing for international competitions.
Speaking after winning the bronze medal, she said that being a mother made the sacrifices emotionally challenging.
"First of all, I am a mother, and it has been very difficult staying away from my son. He is at home, and I miss him a lot."
She said every training session and competition reminded her of the personal sacrifices required to compete at the highest level.

Apart from health issues and family responsibilities, Seema also spoke about the financial challenges faced by athletes. She said the absence of a stable job has created uncertainty, as injuries can affect an athlete's career at any time.
"Another challenge has been the lack of financial support. If I had a job, it would have provided some security, especially since an athlete never knows when an injury might happen."
Seema dedicated her Commonwealth Games bronze medal to her husband and coach, Ravinder, crediting him for standing by her throughout the difficult phase of her career. "I want to dedicate this medal to my husband."
News of Seema's medal sparked celebrations at her in-laws' home, where family members distributed sweets to mark the achievement.
