Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Sri Hargobindpur is located in the Gurdaspur District of Punjab and is one of the 117 seats of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Congress' Balwinder Singh Laddi won the seat in the last assembly elections and is sitting MLA of Sri Hargobindpur. In the 2017 assembly elections, he defeated his Shiromani Akali Dal counterpart Manjit Singh Manna with a margin of 18065 votes.
Voters
According to the voter list for the 2017 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 166295. 213 polling stations were established by the election commission during these elections. A total of 124406 votes were cast in the Sri Hargobindpur constituency and the percentage of voting held 74.81%, which was recorded lower than the state average.
Candidates
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gave the ticket to Advocate Amarpal Singh for the 2017 assembly elections. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal gave the ticket to Manjit Singh Manna as its MLA candidate from the Sri Hargobindpur constituency. In the previous assembly elections, he contested from the same constituency as an Akali dal candidate but lost to Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa of Congress.
