Punjab Assembly elections 2022: Sujanpur is located in the Pathankot district of Punjab and it comes under the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat. It is one of the 117 constituencies of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Dinesh Singh Babu from BJP and current MLA of Sujanpur won assembly elections in 2017. He won by defeating his opponent Amit Singh Manto of Congress with a margin of 18701 votes in the assembly elections held in 2017. Voters According to the voter list for the 2017 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 156174. 196 polling stations were established by the election commission during these elections. A total of 124701 votes were cast in the Sujanpur constituency and the percentage of voting held was 79.85, which was recorded higher than the state average. Candidates Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gave the ticket to Kulbhushan Singh Minhas for the 2017 assembly elections. BJP at that time had an alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal. BJP gave the ticket to Dinesh Singh Babu as its MLA candidate from the constituency. He won the seat by defeating his opponent Amit Singh Manto of Congress.
