Farm Laws 2020: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, who visited Golden Temple on Sunday, said that neither Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh nor Prime Minister Narendra Modi is willing to do anything.
Sukhbir Singh Badal along with former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Sunday offered prayers at Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as Golden Temple in Amritsar.
After paying obeisance at the holy shrine, the SAD President said, "It was very sad that the central government has not yet taken any step to resolve farm laws 2020 with the farmers' organisations or other political parties."
He further said, "I beg PM Narendra Modi to call meetings of all organisations and listen to their doubts.
Later, the SAD President said that "Captain Amarinder Singh should go to Delhi," adding that the Chief Minister is not ready to do anything, nor is the prime minister of the country willing to do anything.
Likewise, Harsimrat Kaur Badal slammed the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government over scams and called it "corrupt government."
She further said that neither the Punjab government nor the Central government is ready to do anything in the farmers' interest.
Meanwhile, the farmer leaders of 8 states have decided to intensify their agitation against the controversial Farm laws 2020. The leaders have announced a nationwide road blockade – chakka jam – on November 3.
