In a major setback to Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2021, Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the entire season. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant, Steven Smith and Ajinkya Rahane are up for the position of skipper for the upcoming edition of the domestic league.
Delhi Capitals is under discussion to choose one captain out of Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant, Steven Smith and Ajinkya Rahane.

It won't be an easy choice for DC, picking a replacement for regular captain Shreyas Iyer. He will be missing IPL 2021 due to an injured left shoulder.

Capitals will be severely affected by the absence of regular skipper as the team has performed amazing under his leadership.
Iyer was appointed as the captain during the 2018 edition after Gautam Gambhir decided to step down owing to the poor performance of the team.
