Nepal miracle: Six-year-old rescued alive after three days under flood debris in Rasuwa
PTC News Desk: Nepal rescue workers pulled a six-year-old girl alive from under thick mud and debris on Friday evening, three days after a devastating flood hit Rasuwa district. Her rescue has brought a rare moment of hope as teams continue searching for people who may still be trapped.
The girl was found in Timure village, which was badly affected by flooding after the Bhote Koshi River overflowed.
While searching for survivors, personnel from the Armed Police Force (APF) heard faint cries coming from beneath the mud. They immediately began digging and eventually found the girl and brought her out safely.
She was first given medical treatment at the APF Border Outpost in Timure. However, her condition later worsened and she needed advanced medical care.
Authorities planned to airlift her to Kathmandu on Friday evening, but heavy rain and poor visibility prevented the helicopter from taking off. Rescuers continued to monitor her condition and kept her stable until Saturday afternoon, when weather conditions improved.
She was then flown by helicopter to a hospital in Kathmandu, where she is now receiving specialised treatment under close medical supervision.
A video of the dramatic rescue was widely shared on social media, with many people praising the rescue teams for their efforts.
One social media user wrote on X, “Respect to the Armed Police Force team that never stopped searching.”
"When all hope was lost, she was found," said another user.
Some even urged others to share her story, so that she can be reunited with her family. "Authorities are now searching for her family or relatives. If anyone recognises Manisha Magar or has any information about her family, please contact the concerned authorities immediately," one user wrote.
