Pakistan truck crash:  As per the reports, the death toll from the tragic accident involving a truck carrying pilgrims en route to the Shah Noorani shrine in Khuzdar, Balochistan, has climbed to 18, with over 50 individuals sustaining injuries.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who visited the Civil Hospital's Trauma Centre to offer support to the injured, confirmed the somber statistics. Initially, 17 lives were lost, and 52 injured passengers were rushed to the hospital, with 40 of them subsequently discharged.


During his visit, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah provided an update on the condition of the injured, stating that five of them are currently on ventilators. He expressed concern, noting that their health remains critical as long as they rely on ventilator support, as reported by media sources.

Expressing deep sorrow, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed efforts to ensure the injured receive necessary medical attention promptly. Meanwhile, former lawmaker Jam Awais Jokhio stood by the families of the deceased to offer assistance during their time of grief.

Following the distress call, rescue operations were promptly initiated, as reported by social worker Saad Edhi. Despite challenges posed by limited mobile network coverage in the area, the response to the accident was swift. Edhi emphasized that arrangements are being made to prepare the deceased for burial and facilitate their transportation to their hometown in Thatta.

Contrary to speculations, relatives of the victims refuted claims of a race between drivers, asserting that the tragedy stemmed from the truck losing control while navigating a turn. They recounted the harrowing ordeal of passengers falling from the vehicle, resulting in fatal consequences.
