Tanzania havoc: 65 killed, several injured following heavy landslides and flooding triggered by heavy rains

Tanzania havoc: A pale of sorrow, grief and devastation descended the world's famous natural beauty, wildlife, culture, breath-taking views and historical significance.

Tanzania rich for stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich cultural heritage makes it a unique is now the scene of a heart-breaking story of falling homes, loss of precious lives, buildings flattened. 

Heavy rains in Tanzania, followed by heavy landslides and flooding resulted in dreadful and tragic loss of lives of 65 people and several others left injured. 

In a devastating turn of events, weekend-long torrential downpours in the highland village of Katesh, 300 kilometres (185 miles) north of the capital Dodoma, damaged properties, including structures, leaving a path of devastation and sadness in its wake. The death toll is expected to rise.

The heart-breaking scenes unfolded in Tanzania as several houses collapsed or sustained substantial damage in the aftermath of the torrential rains, leaving survivors huddled in dread. Tanzania is surrounded by sirens of ambulances and emergency alarms.

 Some 5,600 people have been displaced by the landslides, said Mobhare Matinyi, a government spokesperson, 

Meanwhile, the power lines and communication have been disrupted in the area and a search operation is underway. 

Notably, Tanzania is home to a diverse range of ethnic groups, each with its own language, traditions, and customs. This cultural richness is reflected in the country's festivals, music, and art.
