Texas tragedy: Six Andhra Pradesh NRIs die in accident
PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident in Texas, USA, six members of an NRI family from Andhra Pradesh's Amalapuram, relatives of an MLA from the ruling YSR Congress Party, lost their lives in a fatal traffic accident on December 26. The family's joyous post-Christmas visit turned into a devastating tragedy in Johnson County.
While visiting another relative's residence, the family had a morning trip to the local zoo. Tragically, on their way back home, their minivan was hit by a pickup truck carrying two persons. Reports indicate the pickup might have been driving in the wrong direction.

Among the victims, P Nageswara Rao, the MLA's uncle, Seetha Mahalakshmi, Naveena, Kruthik, and a young girl named Nishitha lost their lives. Additionally, another family member, yet unnamed, also died.
Remarkably, Lokesh survived the accident, but remains critically injured and hospitalised. Those who were in the pickup truck are also receiving medical care.

MLA Ponnada Venkata Satish Kumar, deeply affected by the tragedy, shared details of the incident. He confirmed that the local authorities held the truck accountable for the collision.
Efforts are underway to repatriate the deceased family members' bodies. However, due to Lokesh's ongoing treatment and the citizenship of two of the deceased being American, their consent is necessary.
