US: Woman missing 7 years rescued after police hear her screams from motel
PTC News Desk: A suspected trafficking victim missing for seven years was rescued from a motel in Inkster, Michigan, after police responded to her distressing cries. The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, contacted her step-parents to inform them of her captivity at the motel.
Situated near Detroit, Inkster is a suburban area with a population of around 25,700 residents. Michigan State Police announced the rescue on Thursday, revealing that the woman, who vanished in 2017, was found at the Evergreen Motel.
Troopers discovered her presence after being drawn by her distressing cries. Upon entering the room, they found her alone and physically unharmed, although drugs and a firearm were found on the premises. The woman, now in her thirties, was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for counseling and has since been reunited with her family. However, her identity remains confidential, and authorities have refrained from disclosing further details about her disappearance.

Detectives specialising in human trafficking are leading the investigation into this missing persons case. Michigan State Police Lt. The case underscores the ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and highlights the importance of swift police response in rescuing victims from perilous situations.
