Vietnam fire: In a devastating incident, over 50 individuals lost their lives as a massive fire engulfed a nine-story apartment tower in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Tuesday night, as reported by the country's state-run news media, according to the news agency AP.

The fire outbreak occurred around 11:30 p.m., catching many residents at home, as revealed by the official Vietnam News Agency. This unfortunate situation posed challenges for firefighters due to the building's location in a narrow alley. Fire trucks had to be stationed 300 to 400 meters, equivalent to 985 to 1,315 feet, away from the site.

The affected building is situated in the Thanh Xuan district and houses 45 households. At the time of reporting, the cause of the fire remained unclear, and investigations were underway.

While the fire has been successfully extinguished, ongoing rescue operations are still in progress. This tragic incident comes after a fire at a three-story karaoke bar in southern Vietnam claimed 32 lives last year, marking it as the deadliest fire in the country in the past decade.

Television footage depicted firefighters equipped with hoses and ladders at the scene during the night, while thick, dark smoke billowed from the building throughout the day.

Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, as reported by the agency.
